Dr. Heidi Williams, DVM

Williams Equine is managed by Heidi Williams, DVM

In January of 2010, Tufts transferred the Grafton ambulatory service to Dr. Heidi Williams and Williams Equine, LLC.

Dr. Heidi Williams graduated from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University with Phi Zeta honors in 1999. Following graduation from vet school, she completed an internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Williams went on to complete a surgical residency at Tufts in 2003. Since that time she was a principal veterinarian for the ambulatory service at Tufts.

In these positions, Dr. Williams has gained valuable experience with surgery, internal medicine, ultrasonography, dentistry and radiology. Her special interests include lameness, surgery and ophthalmology.

Dr. Williams grew up in the steeplechase country of Maryland as a barn hand for legendary steeplechase rider and trainer Mickey Smithwick . She completed a undergraduate degree in Animal Science at the University of Vermont. Between college and vet school, she she guided horse pack trips and worked with Morgan stallions in Crested Butte, Colorado.

Dr. Williams rides often and has a Dutch warmblood named Max. She has two daughters - Arden (6) and Ella (6 months) - and is married to Andrew who helps with managing the business.
